Do you think the rioters named and shamed publicly in the media are about to lose their jobs? (if they had one)

53 y/o Christopher Stanton Georgia from Georgia, the Trump Supporter who was arrested as being part of the capitol riots and was found dead in his home has now been ruled a suicide as a family friend tells Dailymail, he was a dedicated family man who felt his life was OVER after the incident!!

He shot himself dead in Alpharetta saturday morning as the father of 2 was found with a gunshot wound ot his chest

His high school friend, Ashley Gunnin tells dailymail "I am deeply saddened by his death. I hope he can be remembered as the man who loved his family and his daughters dearly. The Chri si knew was nothing like we have been watching out of DC on tv for a week. Nothing. He loved his family and his daughters"

Chris worked as a regional portfolio manager at BB&T bank as dailymail is reaching out to the company for comment..

Documents show his wife made a distress call to 911 after hearing gunshots in their basement and finding her husband dead and said there was "blood everywhere"

Police removed 2 semi automatic SKS rifles

He was arrested as being part of a group with Eric Munchel who stormed the capitol and attempted to enter property against police advice and stayed passed curfew. He was arrested and faced 180 days in jail and a fine

But when his name started appearing on the news and seeing others arrested, he faced a strong sense of guilt of participating and realized he made a huge mistake as everything he worked for was in jeopardy and didn't want to face the consequences according to his friend.

Do you think the people named in the riots are about to lose their jobs once their name appears in the media (if they had one)?

The media have jumped to conclusions and been proven wrong so many times. How does anyone still take them seriously at this point?

Nope, he's going to be remembered as one of a relatively small group of people who were SO FUCKING STUPID that he was manipulated into willingly turning traitor to America, and instead of trying to salvage any honor at all by going through the legal proceedings for what he had done, takes up the tool that he likely bought to protect his family, and makes a horrifying mess of himself for them to discover (and clean up) in their home. IDIOT.

Not for nothing, but spending up to 180 days in jail and a fine isn't really losing everything. By contrast, a suicide loses everything, including the chance to see his kids grow up. Honestly, it's a shame that the cops didn't grab him faster since it might have prevented his death.

More of a "why" than a "how." However, he apparently did the thing he was accused of doing so....

No, he's not. Within a few months, literally the only people who will remember his name are going to be those who knew him. His life has as much meaning on yours and yours does on his. If he was the only person to charge the capitol that day, he might have been remembered for doing so, but nobody is likely to remember this guy when you have a wannabe shaman there and a guy who lost his elected office before he got into it... and, honestly, the only person anybody will remember in the long run is that shaman because that get-up was something else. However, I mentioned his name to you or anybody on street (who didn't know him personally) just a month from now, the reaction is going to be: "Who?"

And even the group won't be remembered all that long. Nobody is going to be talking about them fifteen or twenty years from now because they didn't do any lasting damage. Keep in mind people barely remember Sirhan Sirhan and he killed a prominent sitting senator *and* has a cool name. Hell, you probably had to look that name up just to know who he was. They broke in the capitol and, unlike attacks at state houses, a lot of them are pretty rightfully going to prison for it. A few of the ringleaders and more serious guys (like the one who killed the cop) are in the shit now. However, this is just one tiny incident in the long arc of history.

Imagine leaving your bloody corpse for your family to find just so you could kiss the ass of a reality TV host for 15 minutes. I can't tell if this is unbridled stupidity or just plain mental insanity.

If anything the past year of media coverage has demonstrated the facts don't matter. It's all about interpretation. Either he betrayed the constitution, or he believed he was protecting the constitution from traitors.

Unfortunately whether the action or the intent takes priority is applied unevenly and is determined by which individual it's being applied to rather than the circumstances in question.

Maybe he was worried about surviving with brain damage so he chose center mass instead of the head. Didn't someone recently post a thread about how they had a GSW case where the guy survived and it was pretty brutal?

This. He made a bad decision. A very bad one. He didn't like the consequences and wanted to avoid them at all costs. He was probably unstable to begin with, so hopefully his kids benefit more from this than they don't in the long run, but who knows?

"Chris worked as a regional portfolio manager at BB&T bank as dailymail is reaching out to the company for comment"

In another article I read, it stated that prior to landing a job at BB&T, he had previously sold hair pieces so how does one go from selling hairpieces to high finance.

Hmmm puzzling to me but at any rate this is the meltdown we have all seen in regards to White males who fear losing something whether that's a job, a marriage, a home etc and their answer to that is taking their own life.

Bottom line is some things we do we can atone for and some we cannot so it's in our best interest to think really hard about making a stupid mistake that will come back to haunt us.

Another death on Trump and his cronies hands. I feel pretty sad for a lot of these people that were duped to believe in a fraudulent election. The actions they committed is on them, but they were mislead repeatedly to get where they are.

They weren't trying to be sneaky, they didn't think they were doing anything wrong. They are so fucking delusional that they actually believe all the Qanon lies that Trump is a super hero just being screwed over. They felt 100% justified in hunting down our elected officials to put on their crappy little gallows they set up.
