I imagine the allegation there is that the media refuses to call it that. He's probably referencing to the lockdowns, curfews, travel restrictions, and everything else right now.

Same reason why you shouldn't bring up religion, or abortions, or whether or not pineapple belongs on a pizza.

Not to mention you never know what anybody's politics (or other stances on hot button issues) are.
