Depends on lines and how many items you have, I have seen pretty intense lines for self checkout. With a full shopping cart, I would bet on the trained cashier+bagger to easily beat almost anyone at the self checkout line assuming no lines for either. Sure if you have 10 or less items self checkout is faster, unless we are talking lines.
