This may not be necessary information, but a director like Bong doesn't put anything like that in the movie without purpose. He knew the South Korean audience would be able to make that connection easily, and thus he was telling them something about the character that really doesn't translate.ehh i agree on the purposeful directing especially when the evidence is clear, as i've commented similarly on a previous post. but i'd still be hesitant to embrace this particular theory so readily because as i've mentioned, one of the instances i talk about isn't even a clear shot and that connotation of the drink may not even be familiar to the average citizen. if i ever meet him, i would definitely love to ask him about it lol ...
