The best course of action is to get her tested. The son could have been a false negative or she could have gotten it from someone else.

I hope the talk of seeing her sister was more hoping she doesn't have it rather than her wanting to go regardless...
She knows she isn't going. She had a rude awakening 2 days ago. She was all upset her sister didn't invite her to her birthday, and I was like duh... Your son was just possibly positive. They don't care he came back negative. What are you expecting? I think that's when she realized that the people talking nonsense weren't gonna be nonsensical when it came down to it at her expense.

Of course, this probably ruins my new job since they aren't going to take kindly to me not going to my first days of work if she is.

She did have sinus stuff the last day or two. (I think she actually gets allergies, but she refuses to get tested for it because she hates going to doctors for whatever reason).

No joke this conversation has happened.

Her: Doctors say I get sinus issues all the time and need medicine for it.
Me: How do you know you never go to them.
Her: when I went 7 years ago they told me I need to see an ENT for it.
Me: they probably said you need to see an ENT to try and see if that was actually what was going on
Her: No, I need medicine. I can't just take normal sudafed for it. It does nothing. The only thing that seems to work is sudafed with antihistamines.
Me: maybe it is just allergies.
Her: No it is sinuses.
Me: Okay, well, I mean antihistamines is mostly for use against allergies. Maybe only that works because you actually just need an antihistamine for your allergies and it's not actually a sinus infection. You should get an allergy panel done to make sure.
Her: it's fucking sinuses. God you never listen to anything.

So, who knows. I could see losing smell to a sinus infection or allergies. She ran a neti pot pretty extensively the day before. But, the loss of taste I can't imagine anything but covid.

She can't smell vinegar which almost made my eyes burn to smell, and I told her to drink a small bit of it to see if she could taste it, and she said very faintly and had no normal bitter reaction to it. = /

So, I am guessing she is positive.
