There is a harshness to this track that is almost appealing. I at least want to like it and can see why someone else would. Unfortunately, I still just...cant bring myself to care about it. Its inoffensive, but just abrasive enough that Id rather not hear it again.

...I think Im officially out of random filler text for these writeups that I have nothing to say about. Ive already done the furry thing (running around meowing), the brutally harsh thing, and the arbitrary thing (talking about one of Johnbobbs projects).

You know its a running gag that I talk about Johnbobb at every rankingeven the first Mega Man Song Topic by Se7en & Ibut hes never posted in one of them. I hadnt intended to make it a thing (until this post), but its just getting kinda awkward for everyone at this point.

[Not-Quite-Final Thoughts: I cant tell if this song is too abrasive or not abrasive enough. But I kinda like what its doing here, so maybe move it up somewhere to the 40s?]

[Later: Its not the best song of the album or anything, but I do kinda like the aggressive vibe this is going for. This is a good fight song... oddly, I think Id like it in a Yakuza game. This is very smashing someones face into a vending machine music. Maybe 51.40 for the score?]

[Final Thoughts: Regardless of original contexts, this is a pretty top-tier fighting theme. Im still not super into it because fighting themes arent one of my things, but this is actually pretty great for getting pumped up and ready to wreck faces.

...Also the meowing writeup will be a while in the future, that particular song got moved way up the list on a second listen.]

Yeah, not exactly my type of metaphors in this song, I think we all knew that much from the song title. I do appreciate that the song is milder than a lot of other metal songs that get nominated, this actually feels like the Diet Coke version of Motorhead which plays significantly better with me than actual Motorhead would.

Open to trying another song or two of theirs, but this one didnt quite work out, sorry.

[Not-Quite-Final Thoughts: I do like the sound on this song. Its still heavy metal (or...some metal adjacent genre, whatever), but quite slowed down compared to other things that get nominated. Going to try this song at the 52.00 point mark, see how that feels; definitely needs a positive value of some sort.]

[Final Thoughts: Lets go high 50s. I like the sound and general vibe of this song. Its somewhat aggressive, but fairly slow and not overly loud. Its very polite, like the song wants to be angry, but not too angry or intense.

Metaphor choice doesnt exactly bother me, but its obviously not the type of thing Id be giving bonus points to.]

No, I still havent figured out what it is that I like in this song.

I suppose it feels like a very triumphant battle theme, presumably for one of those fights where you already beat the actual final boss and this is more of an interactive cutscene that you cant lose. Which is somewhat interesting?

[Final Thoughts: Good and close to getting past the 60 point barrier, but not quite there.]
