now this thread is what i call a saturday night! sir, i'm gonna have to give you a citation for not having your politics flag properly displayed on your topic

.

If you really dig into the conversation in private with almost any american, regardless of whether they reflexively say they're "pro-life" or "pro-choice", they all say and believe the same thing

that abortion is sad and should rarely be done, particularly past the first trimester, but there are clearly situations where it's not only sad but also necessary.

what it comes down to is whether the individual trusts women to make this tough appraisal about their life and their fetus's life privately.

the pro-life crowd does not, and is more afraid of a theoretical mustachio-twirling vixen getting deeply pregnant and aborting for jollies. the pro-choice crowd does, and is more afraid of lawmakers not having the nuance to regulate it properly, creating horrific situations where necessary abortions are blocked, or women are brought before weird tribunals after a traumatic decision to abort.

i'm discounting the truly psychotic religious nutjobs that believe jacking off or having your period or wearing a condom is a sin or whatever.

Topic could have ended right here. Sums it up pretty much perfectly.
