Sounds like they are still doing a bunch of screening to see if you are eligible, in which case you are golden. Having said that, job 2 sounds way better and I would rather have an employee backout before starting then leaving 8 weeks in so I probably would still try to gracefully exit I agreed to the 1st job and it is supposed to start monday.
