I don't doubt that the scientists and doctors are competent enough to produce a safe, effective vaccine. I do doubt that the executives paying them are willing to be patient and let them take the full time they need in order to do so when so much glory and profit is riding on being the first to get out a vaccine. I also recognize that everyone involved is feeling a ton of pressure (from the pandemic itself, not even considering executive meddling) and wants to get something out quickly, and that working under that kind of pressure can result in overlooking or forgetting something.

There will definitely be a good vaccine eventually, and I have nothing against vaccines as a whole, but I'll still be skeptical of anything that comes out before next year because I know that's a very accelerated timeline for vaccine development.
