rip Aiming for the Future, legit my 2nd favorite falcom song (at least the original version). some of the peak of both ishibashi's really cool rhythmically playful style and tendency towards the types of chords/progressions i love. that transpose-y first minute is just one of my favorite things. the [3+3+3+3+4]/4 rhythms that really ambiguify barlines and downbeats are exactly what i love. the INSTRUMENTATION is so me. It is like if my favorite obscure "Uru: To Dn'i / Uru: Ages Beyond Myst / Myst Online: Uru Live /etc" song called "islmLibraryMusic_Loop.ogg" (a song most myst fans don't care about) was arranged to be like a much more energetic theme for a futuristic dungeon in a place floating in the sky in a jrpg from 2004

the evo arrange is maybe my least favorite evo arrange of any in the entire series i know of. if only because it's destroying a piece of music i love, and making into something i have difficulty being able to stand listening to. i enjoy the base composition a TON though, so i would still probably give it like 9.9/4, if it were a song i was given to rate. i would technically rather listen to other evo arranges less, because i like the source composition less in other things, but which evo arrange pisses me off and makes me the most sad? absolutely aiming to the future.
