Well, most people stopped watching early on, have likely seen the early episodes more times (making them easier to remember and quote), and the most popular episodes are from that same time frame.

One of my favorite episodes is Halloween of Horror where I can remember a lot of stuff that cracked me up, but I haven't seen it enough times yet to truly quote it (partly because it hasn't been out as long). Then one of my favorite Treehouse segments is "The Fat in the Hat" (which I've seen maybe 8 times and I struggle to remember "The Fat in the Hat has some anger issues and some very unusual political views," which, in isolation, isn't terribly funny either -- and that's the other thing I mentioned earlier. When you try to take one line in isolation (rather than an exchange of dialogue between characters), it's a lot harder)
