Okay, so I quickly threw something together, probably needs some tweaking, but about a year ago I did a "seven types of Survivor winners," so now I decided to do a "seven types of Survivor losing finalists."

Type 1:
Colby Donaldson, Rob Mariano, Stephenie LaGrossa, Russell Hantz (19), Parvati Shallow, Coach Wade, Brad Culpepper, Domenick Abbate

The type that is generally the mastermind; the one who dominates the game from Day 1-38, but can't seal the deal at the end. They usually lose to a would-be "sidekick" or "goat" type. This is the type that is most likely to have the fans scream "bitter jury," but the jury almost always says that they would have voted for them if they took different people to the end, or did just a couple things a bit differently.

Note: Domenick and Wendell were pretty much co-masterminds, and thus on paper Domenick may fit better into Type 4, but I felt that the criticisms against him from the jury more aligned him with the others in this type.

Type 2:
Kelly Wiglesworth, Katie Gallagher, Danielle DiLorenzo, Courtney Yates, Mick Trimming, Chase Rice, Chelsea Meissner, Michael Skupin, Gervase Peterson, Missy Payne, Carolyn Rivera, Tai Trang, Ken McNickle, Chrissy Hofbeck, Angelina Keeley, Natalie Anderson

This is the type that gets a pretty harsh reception from the jury. The men are generally seen as flakey or spineless, and the women are usually seen as, well, you know the word I'm looking for. While they have enough of a handle on the game to not be considered an outright goat, most of them had absolutely no shot to win going into the finals.

Type 3:
Kim Johnson, Neleh Dennis, Amanda Kimmel (16), Lisa Whelchel, Dawn Meehan, Monica Culpepper, Jaclyn Schultz, Aubry Bracco, Hannah Shapiro, Julie Rosenberg, Michele Fitzgerald

The fact that this type consists of all women is not a rule. It's just turned out that way so far. This type is similar to the type 2 in that the jury usually has some choice words for them, but they are generally not as harsh as the ones used to describe that type. Words like "naive" and "emotional" come to mind. Like type 2, they are generally players who have an adequate command of how the game works but get themselves into unwinnable situations.

Type 4:
Ozzy Lusth, Amanda Kimmel (15), Stephen Fishbach, Sabrina Thompson, Woo Hwang

The sidekick. This is the type who gets to the end with their day 1 ride-or-die, but should have found a way to cut them loose at the final 5 or 4, because the jury sees the other as the mastermind of the pair. Pretty much everyone from this type could have easily won against just about anyone from any of the other types.

Type 5:
Becky Lee, Cassandra Franklin, Susie Smith, Natalie Tenerelli, Will Sims, Tasha Fox, Trozan Robertson, Laurel Johnson

The "do-nothing." Now we're getting into the genuine goats. These are the losing finalists who are either dragged to the end because they made virtually no moves in the game and thus had no chance to win, or their lack of action outright enabled the mastermind to get to the end. Either way, the jury has little respect for them and they almost always get blown out or shut out.

Type 6:
Russell Hantz (20), Sash Lenahan, Albert Destrade, Spencer Bledsoe, Ryan Ulrich, Mike White, Gavin Whitson, Dean Kowalski

This type is KIND of like Type 1, but not really. They generally think they are the mastermind, but the jury doesn't see it that way and actually sees them as a complete sleezeball. They usually get an edit that makes them look like a complete joke.

Type 7:
Clay Jordan, Matthew von Ertfelda, Lill Morris, Twila Tanner, Dreamz Herd, Sugar Kiper, Phillip Shepard, Sherri Biethman, Noura Salman

These are generally the people that come to mind when you think "goat." These are the outrageous, in-your-face wacky personalities that the jury has absolutely 0 respect for and spends the final tribal council completely trashing them. The other endgame players always want to go to the end with this type and if they make it to the final 7 or so, by that point they are pretty much a slam dunk to get into the finals.
