Both parties have kinda boiled down their talking points to just promote their party's most popular presidents because that gets the biggest crowd reaction.

They like to try linking themselves to the title "Party of Lincoln" as he is generally considered a top 3 president. It's particularly important for them to link themselves to him in the era of Trump to attempt fighting the strong surge towards racism the party took with Trump.
