I always kind of disliked it, though, because I'm not a huge fan of the "60s sound" or "70s sound" in general. Though it's obviously neat to see Nimoy singing something so ridiculous. Honestly, that sort of disconnect might also be why I loved the Ralph Bakshi animated LotR movie more than the Rankin-Bass films (which feel blatantly "70s" to me - Bakshi's just feels "80s" to me in spite of being made in '78).
