To be fair, the bluest blue states were also the ones that took the biggest hit from this in the first place, so they were always going to have a much different perspective of things than most of the rest of the country. Not to mention that a homogeneous response isn't always the best answer for an extremely heterogeneous population - what works/is necessary in extremely population-dense areas isn't necessarily going to be all that helpful in much more rural/dispersed regions. Laypeople ALWAYS seem to ignore this whenever discussing social, political, or economic issues, but like it or not, the US is one of the most diverse nations on Earth across multiple demographic spectra, and that makes it extremely hard to push for any singular blanket solution to any given complex problem. Which is why "Well, Policy X worked in Country Y, so why don't we do it here?" is usually an incredibly naive (if not stupid) question. My personal view of the virus and the response to it is very much colored by living near the main epicenter of the outbreak in the US for the first few months, but I'd almost certainly have a very different perspective of it if I lived in rural Montana where I had to drive like an hour to see another human being. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
