Call me He-Man because I HAVE THE POWER!!!

Electricity went out at around 8pm and I didn't get it back until a bit after 1am. Given that I'm on a well (which I'm sure I've mentioned many times), it meant I didn't even have running water which always sucks.

My Switch had a reasonable charge on it so used that for a bit and thankfully I had some Detective Conan episodes on my phone.

Of course, the bigger issue is that Windows's forced update was finally forced on me because I wanted to shut down my laptops but you couldn't do that without letting it be updated (or having the power go out). As expected, the latest "update" just seems like more bloatware and pushing of shitty Microsoft products, as it tried to get me to use IE/Edge again. This is one of the biggest reasons I don't like messing with those updates, that and the fact that each update likely includes some exploits that make your computer less secure.

Given that he worked there for over 30 years and it likely wasn't his first job, this could also just be retirement >_>

When this kinda crap happens I A: Go to bed and wake up to a fixed issue (hopefully). B: Go out and do something (you know once a year) C: Communicate with my home planet and inform them on the recent changes on earth.

I hate the windows updates, I have been getting a few of them recently and it's seriously annoying. Never does anything good, and like you said, creates problems or exploits etc that can be used (and no, I'm not freaking using edge!!)
