I would say the only reason you'd be concerned of Covid if you don't have a fever is if you have the loss of taste/smell, which are symptoms very strongly linked to the disease if you have them. But I still say even if he had Covid there really was no reason to go to the ER for it as it stands. You don't get cured of Covid by being put on a ventilator. ER is for emergencies and his conditions weren't at an emergency level. He would've just paid to rest in a bed which he can do at home. Ventilators are a last resort because they fuck your lungs up pretty severely.
