You only serve if you acknowledge that at the end of the day, the burger patties that youre flipping are ultimately a step leading to bad guys dying. If you have an issue with that, dont join, nobody is forcing you to. There are a lot of fucky issues with Recruiters outright screwing people over, jobs that dont translate well into the real world, and ultimately a very poor veterans care system in the country. So thats something you have to weigh before joining. But I ultimately joined knowing that I could get a skill that would be useful in the real world and never have to have gotten into debt because of college. I did my time and am now a happy civilian again making way more money than anyone in my family. The military is a valid option if you weigh all of the pros/cons and how theyre all relevant to you and your future. --- Slow and steady wins the race ... Copied to Clipboard! |
