| Corrik7 07/31/20 1:24:51 PM #66: | The asymptomatic spread idea is the same as the mask being a strong deterrent idea. That spread of droplets can cause the spread. With asymptomatics breathing and talking are the main mode of transmission which can top out at 6 feet but is on average much, much lower. Where as a sneeze can go 18 feet and 12 feet for a cough. Also the amount expelled is less with regular breathing and talking than in a mass discharge in a sneeze or cough. That for asymptomatics you would have to be much, much closer. Granted little kids can cough and sneeze for other reasons still, so it is not an exact science. However, while one study says they transmit the same, others say transmission is reduced with people living in the same house not even getting it from an asymptomatic (though of course, there is a possible that they were immune and it was unknown).
