Yeah I'm about to turn 31 and my step dad left me with some emotional scars. I dont really talk to him much anymore but anytime we do I'm really nervous, its like an association thing. And he's apologized for the stuff he did to me when I was a kid. I mean when he got married to my mom he was younger than I am now and he didnt know how to deal with kids but after having his own he chilled out. Aint gonna lie im kinda jealous of my youngest brother because he didn't get the treatment me and my other younger brother did growing up, dude was an ex marine and a huge hardass and things got physical sometimes even when we hadn't reached double digit years in age. >_> It's a really long story with a lot of events that I don't want to lay out but I'm pretty sure a lot of my problems mentally are rooted in that story but I mean you learn to live with it.

When I moved out of the house a lot of times it was hard times because I didn't know how to live by myself, had my utilities cut off and fell behind on rent a lot in my early 20s. But eventually you get life experience and skills and now im better for it and doing pretty good now.

And idk what GED stands for, we always called it "Good Enough Diploma" in jest. Its basically a certification that you took a test demonstrating that you are at HS graduate level. Mostly for HS dropouts and kids in that ilk but idk if homeschoolers get that as well or if its something different.
