America is by far the greatest country. More people want to live here than any other nation on Earth. We lead the world in medicine (4 of the world's top 10 hospitals -- per Newsweek -- are in the US, with only 2 in any other nation), we have the largest economy by far, we have the strongest military by far, the US dollar is the most widely-used unit of currency, we lead the world in entertainment, our freedoms are generally more expansive than most first-world nations, and there's generally more economic opportunity in the US than most other nations.

Which isn't to say that the US is perfect. We believe in barbaric concepts like the death penalty and lifetime imprisonment (although some first-world nations also endorse life sentences). We also have more crime than other first-world nations (although part of that is because some drugs are illegal here that are legal elsewhere and, of course, because it counts some of the US territories which have far greater than average crime). However, when you look at most of the criticisms that far-leftists spew, it's a complaint that we don't have as many socialist programs as other nations. Never mind that these individuals wouldn't dream of living in the nations that they praise, because they know everything they'd be giving up here. Not that I blame them for wanting to stay here -- after all, I've lived or spent considerable time in a quite a few other countries and know that the US is better by far -- but they want to make us more like these lesser nations, not fully recognizing that adopting such programs would also make the US far worse.
