yes for exp

2. In what order did you fight the following gym leaders?
Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina
that order. mostly because of level progression unless i go out of my way to do sabrina first to mix it up

3. Did you kick Giovanni/Team Rocket out of Celadon City?
almost always for exp

4. Sub-question: Did you use the Poke Doll on the ghost of Marowak?
always get the silph scope unless in speedrun situation

5. Did you go through the Diglett Cave/get Flash?
yea. annoying without. usually get voltorb from route to teach it to.

6. Did you go to Fuschia City via the Snorlax to the west of Celadon City/the bike route or via the Snorlax east of Lavender Town/the piers?
celadon since going down cycling road is faster. amd once you get to fuschia for surf eveything else opens up.

7. Did you go to Cinnabar Island from Fuchsia City/the Seafoam Islands or just by Surfing from Pallet Town? Did you immediately leave Cinnabar Island by flying?
Pallet. usually finish other business before going to cinnabar so i don't leave immediately.

8. Did you go to the Power Plant? If so, when?
only if i'm playing red and planning to use electabuzz that run since i don't use legendaries. i go soon as possible in that case (after i get surf & beat koga)

9. Did you encounter/catch the legendary birds? / which ones, and when?
only in my first playthrough or trying to finish the pokedex. no in every other run. after elite four. zapdos > articuno > moltres because power plant is least annoying to navigate
