I actually really love Pitou which is kind of why it was so impactful to me. They spend that time building up to making Pitou more human and Gon more monstrous (If you try to delay us again, I'll kill that girl), and ends with Pitou sacrificing her life for what she believes is saving the one most important for her, and Gon sacrificing his humanity to kill.

The most important moment of it all to me is Gon's threat to kill Komugi, and then you think back to Gon on the ground, screaming at Chrollo, frustrated at how Chrollo could hurt people he doesn't even know.

That is all true, I agree. Except for the part about loving Pitou. When I say she sucks, I mean as person (well, you know what I mean). She's an interesting enough character,
