Finished GoT s8. Given that it left nobody happy, I guess the show's end must have been a good compromise? >_>

Other than maybe Clegane, I'm not sure I saw one plot thread that ended in a way I liked. (Well, I guess Gendry's was okay... and I liked Bronn's conclusion even if the steps to get there this season were crap, considering we only see him in like 3 scenes.) And the resolution to Clegane's storyline made up for a lot this season.

Dany's decimation of King's Landing was absurdly pointless and it seemed like she was going out of her way to execute civilians, making the heel turn that much more forced. The fact that the revelation about Jon's parentage had little direct impact on the plot -- other than Varys's death and driving a wedge in his relationship with Dany -- made it feel a bit pointless as well.

And the confrontation with the Night King in the Godswood would have been really cool if not for Arya somehow just running or flying past the White Walker guard to attack the Night King in a completely anticlimatic battle. Honestly, just shooting him with an arrow would have looked less ridiculous. And, from a logical standpoint, they should have had some people hiding with dragonglass-headed or Valyrian steel-headed arrows to pull off that ambush.

The Wave Master posted...
My brother in law died today in a motorcycle accident. Some lady wasn't paying attention, and straight up T boned him as he was waiting to make a left turn to go into the auto parts store to pick up a part for said motorcycle. My sister and her two kids are devastated, and this crap comes a month after my mom died.

Sorry to hear that. Also it's a crazy way to go given everything else happening.

It's also why I've never taken up motorcycling. I'm less worried about my handling of the vehicle than the fact that countless people on the road can't handle theirs.
