| adjl 03/26/20 12:41:28 PM #22: | Masks help a bit, but they're only good for an hour or two before the moisture from your breath makes them too damp to do much, and they do nothing to prevent infection through the eyes (which is a much more significant infection route than many people realize). You also completely negate the benefit they provide if you take them off at any time while in a potentially unsafe area (such as to eat or pick your nose), if they don't fit properly, if you have a beard, if you handle them with contaminated gloves, or if you don't immediately wash your hands after removing them, among other examples of misuse.
