Oh, I thought you were talking about the game not the character. Yeah, Apollo himself is fine in AA4 and IMO only gets better in 5 and 6

I've heard more good things about 1-3 than 4-6, sadly.

Did you know it was Phoenix before the game told you? And yeah, 4-1 is great. I feel like AJ gives you its best shot right out of the gate.

Also here's the thing I hinted at a long time ago that you've probably forgotten I ever mentioned: Shu Takumi originally didn't want Phoenix in the game at all since he thought his story had wrapped up quite nicely. However, Capcom was afraid the game wouldn't sell if Phoenix wasn't attached to it in some form, and thus Hobonix was born.

I didn't know it would be Phoenix. I thought we were going to be in for an MGS2 thing where we're introduced to a nobody, then Phoenix shows up partway and becomes your mentor. And yeah, having Phoenix be gone would make sense. I kind of got the impression that he would end up together with Maya or Iris at the end and that'd be that, but there's no way the daughter who shows up for five seconds will be theirs. How do I know? Because anime kids always have the hair color of one of their parents, and both of them and Phoenix have black hair.
