No, because regardless of how YOU interpret it, the sorts of people who actually invented the concept of video game generations in the first place and Nintendo themselves still consider it 8th gen, so it is. There's more to generation than simple iteration. The fact that the Switch is essentially the combined successor to the Wii-U and 3DS doesn't automatically advance the generation.
