No. In spite of the fact that it's basically the replacement to both the Wii-U and 3DS, it's still technically considered part of the 8th gen. Nope. Because of the fact that it's a replacement for the 8th gen Wii U, and it released nearly 5 years after the Wii U (fairly standard for a console cycle), it's 9th gen.
