Nope.

Because of the fact that it's a replacement for the 8th gen Wii U, and it released nearly 5 years after the Wii U (fairly standard for a console cycle), it's 9th gen.

But I'm aware that sites like Wikipedia, where I'm sure you're getting your info, list it incorrectly as 8th gen.
