There have been some moments of inconsistent quality in the Azur Lane anime, but it's not like the whole show was a trainwreck from the get go. Plus, it's only a 3-month delay and not over a year like Marchen Madchen had. Didn't Girls Und Panzer also have this exact same situation when it aired, where it originally aired in the fall season but the final two episodes were delayed until March? pogo_rabid posted... What's the point of an azur lane anime, isn't it just a clone of the kantai collection anime? Azur Lane's mobile game started as a Chinese knockoff of KanColle, but it became really popular and eventually surpassed KanColle partly due to the much more varied character designs. The game getting a global release (when you still need a VPN to play KanColle outside of Japan) helped a lot. kirbymuncher posted... it's actually anime original plot iirc? and I've heard it's kind of insane I haven't played the game, but I've heard that it's a loose adaptation of the game's story and not any sort of original content.
