A lot of them do do charitable work.

They would be stupid not to.
1. Tax break
2. Maintains an image very important for their status and where they live.
3. Networking. Since it is a thing celebs do, they can meet others, even big wig producers when attending say a gala event for some cause.
4. It helps them think it is ok to have so much more wealth than the average person; they gave back a tiny fraction so it is ok.
The funny thing is the more you have, the less a percent sets you back.
Ex: Ellen has given $50 mil to charity and people according to google. That is alot.
She is worth $275 mil though according to google.
So she gave away nearly 20%

But she still has 225 million to buy multiple mansions, fancy cars or whatever else floats her boat.
She at least also profits off of her charity since it creates entertainment value that causes some to watch her show more. Kinda like Mr.Beast; the more he gives the bigger his channel gets and the more money it generates.

Take someone with less.
30 mil.
They give away 10% of their wealth.
Now they have 27 mil.
Enough to buy a mansion and fancy things as well.

But hey, they gave away 3 million!
They gave away more than you or me
Right?

Well, funny thing, Jesus said the widow who gave her 2 mites gave more than everyone else despite rich people giving fortunes to the temple. Why do you think that is?
But I am not saying they give it all away anyways. That was just an example of how percents work, and 10% of little is more than 10% of alot when it comes to being missed by a person who has bills to pay.
