Oh come on. Anything can be "the 1%" when you literally manipulate the data like that. The average renter income is like $40k a year, so "if you exclude homeowners", someone making like 100K a year is "the 1%", too.


if you don't exclude the top .01 percent the wealth you need to be in the 1 percent is still only about 10 million

but what you said as an example of data manipulation doesnt follow just fwiw

average individual income in the us isnt that different for renters vs homeowners because renters in high cost metros and homeowners in flyover america skew those statistics
