He's not "being petty because of something that happened in HS". Don't be disingenuous. Even if, standing up to not just a bully but a hypocrite bully is at least as courageous as coming out. If and only if the bully had been forthcoming about his bullying when coming out would he have an excuse. Everyone does deserve a chance. But he probably didn't even remember. Well, guess what. ...
