It's now been 10 years since Disney released The Princess and the Frog, which was a 2D animated film released well into the GCI era, meant to be a throwback to the "Renaissance" (The Little Mermaid through Tarzan), and launched the current "Revival" era, and I've always been kinda disappointed that they didn't stick with it more than they did. I'm not saying that I think, say, Wreck-It Ralph or Big Hero 6 should have been hand-drawn, but Tangled and Frozen definitely feel like 2D films under the guise of 3D films. I've always loved traditional animation and in many cases prefer it to GCI, and Disney in particular has a rich history of beautiful hand-drawn films. I think it would be interesting to see them release another 2D film within the next decade to see how well it holds up at this point. I know it's a far cry to hope that they make a legitimate comeback, but as a throwback once every 10 years or so I think it would be neat. ---
