Tulsi is trying to gather anti-establishment credibility. There's a few problems with this scenario:

#1. You've already got Bernie Sanders taking that demographic. She realizes it, too, in her statement she's like "NOT AGAINST BERNIE THIS TIME!"

#2. She doesn't have enough base support for it to matter.

#3. There are too many candidates. At this point, most people will be like "Tulsi Gabbard isn't going to be at the debate? Well, nothing of value lost." I think most people wish it'd just come down to Biden/Warren/Sanders and MAYBE one or two others.

#4. She's been way too friendly to the Trump Administration. That's not going to win her much support of the left-leaning anti-establishment types. Which are the votes she's supposed to be vying for.
It is really hard to not like Tulsi at this point. She is literally the only candidate who actually wants to bridge the divide in this country and make it bipartisan. Wish other candidates would take a cue from her.
