| pls 09/26/19 11:42:14 AM #47: | About 100 pages into Naomi Klein's This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs The Climate It's really good so far and I like the nuanced take on where the right and the left have it wrong. And it does a really good job of putting market economics into perspective wrt how it can lock in really shitty practices. Some things are known to be wrong now five years after the book was published (like how that one solar company in Toronto is actually booming rather than shutting down) but the point she was making about the World Trade Organization being able to shut down preference for locally-produced goods and services is terrifying. Had to put it down since it was well past my bed time but I'll prolly finish it today.
