Plus the cold puns are literally the only thing of value in the Batman and Robin movie.

And only one man could have delivered them with such skill and enthusiasm:

Granted, *most* of the B&R cast gave stellar, memorable performances!

Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. He always had a maniacal kind of energy and seemed to get more into the part than any other actor on the show.

There are three men in a boat with four cigarettes but no matches. How do they manage to smoke?

tbh, a lot of people criticized Jim Carrey's performance given that it defied their modern perception when it so masterfully matched Frank Gorshin's energy.

I'm just sad we don't live in a world where they made a movie about the Riddler (played by David Tennant) based on the period/storyline when he wasn't a villain, because he decided that rather than proving his genius by outwitting Batman, he'd do it by becoming a private detective and solving the cases no one else could solve.

Casting David Tennant as the Riddler would be a little too on the nose... plus something that like that might work better in a Suicide Squad movie, preferably after being defeated by Batman in a Batman movie. I would *love* to see a DCCU that's tied together by supporting characters like that rather than just one tied together by headliners.
