Given that it's probably going to be based around the Planeswalkers, it's probably going to suck. Granted, all of MtG's in-universe stories are lousy.

Some of the older stuff was interesting, but they retconned most of that away when they introduced the shitty Nuwalkers.

Ice Age was probably the last point in the franchise when I gave a damn about the setting details. By the time of the Weatherlight storyline (that a lot of younger people loved), I'd mostly checked out. And the later Urza stuff actively annoyed me (then again, I always used to root for Mishra).

I will say that Jeff Grubb's The Gathering Dark was a guilty pleasure.

Id bet anything the show is gonna be some shallow plot about some kids in the real world using cards and meeting/interacting or maybe becoming established planeswalkers and will have almost nothing to do with existing lore

That I'd probably enjoy more.

I mean, it could be, but it's animation and I think it's supposed to be more mature in nature and not made for kids.

They could do a wonky premise like that and still have it themed for adults.
