Well even rubbing someones back is a bit beyond the line I have never seen a teacher do that to another student in RL, even in college where everyone is pretty much beyond 18. I saw teachers do that, but they always stayed near the shoulder. Granted, in today's climate of hysterical overreaction, any touching is gradually becoming taboo.
