I feel much of the same with Prince Ali too, and I feel like it might be better with he context of the visuals? But the brief scene they showed of Prince Ali just makes it seem more boring. That's my issue with this movie. You need to go balls out crazy with this stuff when you have the Genie and magic. Make it outrageous cartoon shit to an extent. But it's actually pretty standard and boring stuff in the clip. I don't even mind Will Smith's spin on the Genie either though. I think it's a rather fun rendition of the character. I just wish that they would have turned the character up a bit more, because there's a ton of fun to have with that which they just didn't seem like they wanted to explore. I speak on this just from the songs and the brief clips I saw though.
