When it was revealed in Assassin's Creed 3 that Haytham and friends were Templars

I just played through 3 and that totally came out of left field.

In a good way for you or bad lol

Back in 2012 nobody saw it coming

I didn't see it coming either. I had played 4 first so the Haytham name rang a bell and so did the ending credit scene in 4 where you're at the cinema with your son.

So the fact that he was a Templar really shocked me, especially since you're using the wrist blades and climbing to synchronize and stuff.

There were some moments in online games that always got me.

In the multiplayer FPS-RTS "Natural Selection", one team plays as Marines who get their gear from a commander and one team plays as aliens who get resources from their team and they can evolve their own abilities and stuff. And one of the late game evolutions is called an Onos, it's basically a giant rhino thing and if it catches you and eats you you're done. Virtually *every* time I saw that thing I felt this adrenaline rush as I tried to run to the nearest air vent before it could reach me. Or if it did eat me I was hoping my team would kill it while I was still alive in its stomach (you saw a weird screen of a moving stomach lining when it swallowed you).

And Left 4 Dead 2, when you're on that finale and you have like thirty seconds left, then twenty, then ten, then you're running to the landing zone and ... your teammate goes down and you gotta leave them behind. That was always tragic af but the timing always contributed to the atmosphere.
