2. You just said it yourself...his game. Game singular. Thus it's not relevant. That would make Ice Climbers relevant because their games were on Nintendo's E-Shop...and yet they're not relevant. Heck, they're still somehow more relevant than Crono because they've at least been in things like Super Smash Bros.

It does not seem like you possess the capacity to appreciate Chrono Trigger, so I will not ask you to play it. But I will advise you to read up on the game to at least understand its popularity.

I mean he's speaking to relevancy not quality. And he is spot on. Crono hasn't been relevant in years. The fact that he is as strong as he is is a testament to the quality. But he cant hold on forever on the strength of one great game... he is far and away the biggest one hit wonder on the site.

Sure. But the game getting re-released means new people play it, so he gains/regains strength. Seeing as how the same guy is hating on Crono in other threads, I'm pretty sure he's doing it out of malice for Chrono Trigger, and not for mere semantics as your post suggests.

If you like Zelda more, why would you be upset that she beat Mario clean?

I'm not that upset, it just adds to the overall picture. If a secondary Zelda character can beat the biggest non-Zelda character, that's pretty severe bias. But it was Snake losing so badly that made me start the thread.

I would argue crono would barely even count as a gaming icon. Like I would put him well below crash bandicoot or master chief... I mean he has a great game, but I doubt would even make a top 50 most iconic characters list. Hell I bet phoenix wright even beats him in that regard.

While Ace Attorney is among my favourite series, let's not pretend it's that relevant. Crono's game is the product of Square's absolute dream team at the time, and "the time" was the RPG golden age, Square's strongest time that they'll never come close to again. Plus, his design is super cool, and drawn by DragonBall legend Toriyama. If he'd had more games, he'd easily be around Link and Mario's level even on this site. But that's okay. Popularity is not that important. Just being able to beat a character like Mega Man is cool enough, not to mention beating Mario 2-3 times back in the day (even if only 1 was counted).
