Arguably, the only time we really see them directly matched against each other in any way, Luke gets his ass handed to him while he tries to stay Light Side, only starts to win when he embraces the Dark Side, and then pretty much wins via fluke that would only work in that precise and unique situation by refusing to give in to the Light Side.
