Do natural disasters happen often in Houston?

We been hit hard twice in a 9 year time frame, Ike in 2008 and Harvey in 2017, not to mention a few tropical storms and the panic of Hurricane Rita in 2005. The time we have to really be prepared for are the months of August and September. Hurricane season is longer than that, but those two months are the most dangerous. But you got to remember too that there's almost nowhere you can go that's completely safe, so you just have to roll the dice sometimes. It's happened for centuries, but we always move on.
