I'd say that SMRPG might be one of the rare exceptions given the original SNES game wasn't really the easiest game to obtain back then. Like, those who had played the Paper Mario games but not SMRPG might be more tempted to buy the port on Wii or Wii U to see what the game was like.

Even if the re-release on Wii and Wii U was mainly being purchased by those who had already played the game before, it can still help out in other ways like jumpstarting those feelings of nostalgia who are just now replaying the game after having not played it since many years earlier.
