So basically ChannelAwesome made a bunch of memorials for a man who they knew was actually a piece of shit and left him in a positive light knowing damn well that he had ruined the lives of a few girls. There's way, WAAAAY more to it than that, but the short version is that apparently everyone who runs the channel is an absolute piece of shit in dozens of different ways. The info you mentioned only came out in the middle of an entirely different controversy, where the shitty people who run the channel sort of threw out a distraction to try and take the heat off themselves for being terrible, only to make themselves look even worse and open up a few other cans of worms in the process. But yeah, multiple issues with molestation and harassment from multiple different offenders, a lot of really scummy business practices, an extremely hostile work environment behind the scenes, and generally abusive behavior on the part of a lot of people in power are kind of just the tip of the iceberg.
