The backstory here is that each team has to submit a report to the league describing how they'll handle discipline for everything. The Dolphins were the first to submit this report, but the other 31 teams will have to as well. This caused the story to come back into the spotlight a bit. In response, late last night the NFL announced they would freeze adding and enforcing new anthem rules as they have entered into discussions with the NFLPA over what to do about everything. So we're almost back to square one with the NFL flailing about over what to do. Regarding specific parts of Trump's tweet: "Isn't it in the contract..." No, it isn't.
