I think you're in the minority on that opinion. Either way, as a HUGE Spider-Man fan, I liked and disliked aspects of both series, but the Amazing movies were much worse.

You mean you *hope* I'm in the minority on that opinion, since you need a majority to agree with you to fell that you're correct =p And no, ASM1 was far and away better than SM1 & 2. And, while ASM2 was loaded with problems, it was still infinitely superior to SM3.

Granted, both series share a few things I really hate -- like unmasking Peter to civilians for silly dramatic effect.

I watched the 2nd Spiderman movie when he fights Doctor Octopus. its still a watchable movie.

The fight scenes are great. Not disputing that.

I liked the Gwen Stacey storyline knowing how it was eventually going to end

Plus Emma Stone was incredible as Gwen, whereas Kirstin's MJ was mostly just whiny eye-candy.

In the MCU, the Avengers are considered A grade while Spider Man is like a C+ when in reality he's more well known than Iron Man and Co.

To be fair, in-universe Spidey in the comics doesn't have the same prestige as many Avengers and the fact that he's still somewhat disliked by the public is one of his running gimmicks.

I actually think the Power Ranger Goblin is better. I mean, I feel it's closer...

Closer to what? A Power Rangers villain?

And it wouldn't even be that bad if the armor was treated more like armor (and if it had a better helmet), but you see him acting goofy in it.

The kind of shit he does on the rooftop wouldn't look bad if he was wearing anything but what looked like full-body armor.
