Children are going to get murdered at a higher rate in the US than other developed nations because we have a constitutional right and cultural predilection for guns here. To have it any other way will mean changing the fabric of the United States. If it matters that much to not live in a society like this, you are better off leaving than trying to "fix" it. Leaving doesnt fix the fact that kids are dying though. Is the fabric of the United States worth their lives if we could change that?
