Topic	If Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo ALL demanded another do-over

This way backwards compatability isn't an issue. That is probably what is going to happen honestly. They will probably keep making the PS4 and XBox One incremental upgrades and not make a brand new console ever again unless they want to do something completely different with it. Nintendo on the other hand will probably be releasing a new console in 4 - 6 years like they always do. --- I am a senior software engineer.
