She's a robotics engineer, or at least an engineer with a heavy interest in robotics, but the tech level is higher than it seems to be here, since IIRC it was partially the fault of a device she built that she got sent into another universe to begin with. Essentially she recognizes that the player is "also" from Earth like her, but they're obviously not the same one. But I mean, yes, essentially she is - in her own world - a normal, though probably exceptionally gifted, engineer. Though in the world of the game she cycles through princess, Empress, and technically-not-Empress-but-may-as-well-be Ar nosurge is a pretty complicated and detailed world!
